Create your own Halloween Cushion - Craft Tutorial

So you want to add some spooky Halloween vibes to your home décor but want to do it on a more budget friendly option. Well, here is how you can create a Halloween Cushion. Follow on for a step-by-step guide on how to turn one of our plain cushion covers into a spooky cushion.

What you need:

  • Cushion Cover (we have a range of colours on our website, you can choose to match the Halloween aesthetic, or match your own colour scheme)

  • Scissors

  • Rope

  • Black wool fluff (we used black wool yarn)

  • Cocktail stick

  • Super glue

  • Glue gun

Step 1:

Cut your rope into roughly three different sizes, 8,10,12 cm, this will need to be repeated around 9 times.

Step 2:

Fold the 8cm rope in half and super glue the touching part together. (please note: super glue can get warm in your hands and is slips through the rope. Take extra caution.)

using super glue, stick the rope together.
apply pressure to the rope to ensure it is stuck together

Step 3:

Take the 10cm cut rope and superglue this to the outside of the 8cm glued rope. (Tip: using the cocktail stick, fluff up the end of the rope.)

using the next size up cut rope, super glue to the outside of the first glued rope

Step 4:

Finally take the 12cm rope and super glue this to the outside of the 8cm and 10cm glued rope.

Step 5:

Repeat steps 2-4 until you have 9. These will be your ghosts.

Step 6:

Get your black wool and cut into tiny pieces. Roll these pieces into small balls.

Step 7:

Place a dap of super glue on the “ghost” and using the cocktail stick hold the black wool ball in place until it is stuck. Repeat this step two more times per “ghost” to replicate two eyes and a mouth on each ghost.

apply super glue to the front of the "ghost" and place the black rolled wool onto the glued area, hold with cocktail stick until stuck
repeat this step until the ghost has two eyes and a mouth.

Step 8:

Unfold your Clever Baggers cushion cover and decide how you would like to position your ghosts (this is where you can decide if you would like to create more!)

Step 9:

On the reverse of the ghost apply the hot glue from the glue gun and the stick onto the cushion cover in your desired place. Repeat this step until all your ghosts are stuck to the cushion cover in your desired place.

Step 10:
Stuff the cushion cover with a cushion pad (inner) and that’s it! You’re ready to sit back with your Halloween sweets and enjoy a spooky movie.
