T shirt and a4 shapes

Halloween is such a fun time to get creative with your style and of course dressing up in fancy dress! So, with this in mind, I decided to get my spooky on and create some Halloween T-shirts of my own using the Halloween A4 Iron on Shapes from our website.

This was such a fun task to do and could also be a great activity to do with children (just as long as a grown up does the ironing part!).

Here is what you need to create your own Halloween T-Shirts and Goody Bags:

  • A4 Halloween Iron on Shapes (you can choose any colour, I used 2 sheets for my designs in orange and white).

  • Scissors

  • Iron

  • Ironing Board (or protected flat surface)

  • Cotton T-Shirt and/or a Cotton Trick-or-Treat Bag.

Now you’ve got everything you need, just follow these easy steps to get creating your own customised Halloween T-Shirt and/or Goody Bag.

Step 1. Take a look at the Halloween A4 Iron on Shapes and decide which shapes you would like to include in your design, remove the tracing paper and use the scissors to cut around the design you would like to use (TIP: don’t cut too close to the design as you will need to ensure the design is underneath the plastic lining when ironing).

Step 2. Then lay your t-shirt and/or trick-or-treat bag on a flat surface and decide on your positioning of the Halloween shapes you cut out. Once you’re happy with your choice then it’s time to start getting that iron hot (with a grown-ups help!).

Step 3. Set your iron to the recommended temperature for the textile. Iron the t-shirt/goody bag before you iron on your designs to get rid of any creases. The shiny plastic backing needs to be facing up. Run iron firmly over the design for 10 - 30 seconds or until plastic backing is distorted. Be very careful not to burn the fabric or melt the plastic. A sheet of grease proof paper can also be used over the design and fabric for extra protection.

Step 4. Slowly remove the plastic backing when it has cooled and to check that the transfer is stuck (re-apply the plastic over the design if it hasn’t).

Then that’s it you now have a brand new custom designed Halloween T-Shirt and/or Goody Bag designed by you! A truly one-of-a-kind.
